Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the Telangana economy is being aligned with global development models to achieve rapid growth and reach a value of $1 trillion by 2034.
Addressing Telangana State Formation Day celebrations at the Police Parade Grounds in Khammam on Tuesday, Bhatti Vikramarka said the government has adopted a long-term strategy to transform the state’s economy and improve living standards.
After hoisting the National Flag and receiving a guard of honour, the Deputy Chief Minister said the government was working in line with the ideals of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to ensure social, economic and political justice for every citizen.
Bhatti Vikramarka said the government has finalised plans to expand the Telangana economy from its current size of about $200 billion to $1 trillion by 2034. He added that the state aims to achieve a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
Telangana economy to follow Cure, Pure and Rare model
The Deputy Chief Minister said the government has adopted a structured economic framework based on three categories — Cure, Pure and Rare.
According to him, the model draws inspiration from international practices and will guide future economic planning and investment.
Bhatti Vikramarka also announced the Indiramma Kutumba Jeevitha Bima Pathakam. Under the scheme, the government will provide free life insurance coverage of ₹5 lakh to 1.15 crore families across the state.
He said the programme would cover families without distinctions based on economic status and provide financial support during times of crisis.
The Deputy Chief Minister also reviewed the implementation of welfare programmes under Abhaya Hastham and the progress of Indiramma housing projects in Khammam district.
In another major announcement, Bhatti Vikramarka said the government will introduce a free nutritious breakfast programme for students in government educational institutions from the 2026-27 academic year.
The scheme will cover students from pre-primary to Intermediate levels. He said the initiative aims to ensure that no child attends school on an empty stomach.
