Telangana launches digital advertising services through Mee Seva centres
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has launched an initiative to transform Mee Seva centres into Digital Advertising Hubs. The initiative will help small businesses promote their products and services through affordable digital marketing.
The Electronic Service Delivery (ESD)-Mee Seva department launched the programme with support from Meta. It also aims to help vendors, shopkeepers, startups, MSMEs and other enterprises expand their digital reach.
Meanwhile, the government trained more than 150 Mee Seva Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) from the Core Urban Region (CURE) in Hyderabad. The programme focused on creating and managing advertisements on Meta platforms.
Mee Seva centres to expand digital marketing access
The programme was attended by ESD (Mee Seva) Commissioner T. Ravi Kiran, IFS, and Meta representatives. During the training, VLEs learned to design advertisements, prepare promotional content, identify target audiences and manage digital campaigns.
In addition, the initiative creates a new source of income for Mee Seva VLEs. They can now offer digital advertising as a value-added service.
Businesses can visit their nearest Mee Seva centres for advertising support. This includes kirana stores, fruit shops, sweet shops, restaurants, pharmacies, hospitals, schools, salons, mechanics, electricians, plumbers, startups, MSMEs and large enterprises.
Accordingly, Mee Seva operators will help businesses prepare advertisement creatives. They will also identify target audiences and publish campaigns on Meta platforms. The service aims to improve visibility, attract more customers and support business growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner T. Ravi Kiran said the collaboration reflected the Telangana government’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs through technology. He added that Meta’s digital advertising expertise and Mee Seva’s extensive network would make professional digital marketing accessible to small and rural businesses.
Further, the government said the initiative aligns with the vision of IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu. It also said the initiative expands the role of Mee Seva centres beyond citizen services. Moreover, it supports entrepreneurship, strengthens small and medium businesses, creates additional livelihood opportunities for VLEs and contributes to Telangana’s digital economy.
