Telangana gears up for grand Dawat-E-Iftar and Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations

HYDERABAD: Elaborate preparations for Dawat-E-Iftar and Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations across Telangana are underway following a high-level review meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, and Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Saturday.

Held at the Assembly Meeting Hall, the meeting focused on the grand Dawat-E-Iftar event to be hosted by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on March 25 at LB Stadium in Hyderabad. It also reviewed broader Ramzan arrangements, with active participation from officials of all relevant departments.

Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, who chairs the High Power Committee, underlined the emotional and cultural importance of the event. He asserted that it must reflect the Telangana government’s commitment to communal harmony and respect for religious traditions. Assuring adequate funding, he emphasized the need for high-quality arrangements in food, hospitality, sanitation, protocol, and public services.

The Deputy CM instructed departments to leave no room for compromise. He directed officers to ensure law and order, uninterrupted electricity, clean drinking water, and sanitation. Any challenges were to be reported directly to him or District In-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar without hesitation.

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar echoed these directives, urging officials to implement plans with precision and sincerity, not just for the Iftar gathering but throughout the remaining days of Ramzan and for Eid-ul-Fitr.

After both Bhatti Vikramarka and Ponnam Prabhakar left for Assembly proceedings, Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir continued the review. As Vice-Chairman of the High Power Committee, he will oversee daily reviews and ensure smooth execution of all preparations.

Mohammed Ali Shabbir

Shabbir Ali commended officials for their work over the past 20 days in maintaining high standards in essential services such as water supply, electricity, waste management, and security. He urged them to sustain the same level of commitment until Eid. Special focus was directed toward making arrangements for Eid prayers at major mosques and Eidgahs across the state.

He also expressed gratitude to Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka for releasing ₹8.15 crore for Iftar arrangements in 815 mosques and ₹23 crore towards three-month salaries for Imams and Muezzins. He appealed for timely salary disbursals through the green channel to prevent delays.

Praising the inter-departmental coordination, Shabbir Ali stressed the importance of continued collaboration to avoid any lapses. He described the upcoming Iftar hosted by the Chief Minister as a dignified and inclusive event that should reflect Telangana’s spirit of unity and tradition.

Departments have been instructed to strictly follow High Power Committee guidelines. The Vice-Chairman will directly supervise regular monitoring and coordination to ensure that the Dawat-E-Iftar and Eid celebrations are conducted with the grandeur and sincerity they deserve.
