Task Force busts adulterated ginger-garlic paste unit in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Charminar Zone Task Force police busted a unit manufacturing adulterated ginger-garlic paste in Wahed Nagar under the Malakpet police station limits and seized large quantities of products, chemicals and packaging material.

Officials said the operators prepared ginger-garlic paste in unhygienic conditions without adhering to quality standards.

Acting on credible information, the Task Force team raided the premises and found large-scale production activities underway.

Investigators discovered that the operators allegedly mixed chemicals, including acetic acid, into the paste to increase its shelf life.

Meanwhile, officials found that the unit used substandard raw materials and failed to maintain basic hygiene during the manufacturing process.

During the raid, police seized adulterated ginger-garlic paste, chemical substances, grinding machines and packing machinery.

Further, the team recovered empty packets, counterfeit brand stickers and labels from the premises.

According to police, the operators packed the product under the names of established brands and supplied it to grocery stores and hotels in different parts of the city.

Police arrested the main accused and registered a case in connection with the operation.

Additionally, investigators are examining the role of other individuals suspected of assisting the accused.

Meanwhile, Task Force teams have intensified action against the manufacture and sale of adulterated food products across Hyderabad.

Officials advised consumers to check product quality, manufacturing dates and brand details before purchasing packaged food items.
