Hyderabad: Government Adviser Mohammed Ali Shabbir said the four per cent reservation for poor Muslims under the BC-E category was improving educational advancement among minority students in Telangana.
He made the remarks at a felicitation programme for state rankers held at Kalabharathi Auditorium in Kamareddy on Saturday.
Shabbir Ali attended the event as chief guest. He felicitated students of Sandeepani Junior College who secured top state ranks in Intermediate examinations.
He presented cash awards to the achievers. Asma Jabeen secured second rank in BiPC second year. Similarly, Satvika secured third rank in MPC second year.
Meanwhile, K. Akshaya secured second rank in MPC first year. In addition, Ayesha Siddeqa secured fourth rank in BiPC first year.
Highlighting the achievements of girl students, Shabbir Ali said female students were setting new academic benchmarks. He added that they were building strong foundations for future careers.
He further said many rank holders came from rural and economically weaker backgrounds. Therefore, their success carried greater significance.
BC-E reservation helping minority students excel
According to Shabbir Ali, the BC-E reservation policy had opened opportunities for deserving minority students to access quality education.
He said the strong performance of minority students reflected the positive impact of inclusive educational policies implemented by the government.
Moreover, the adviser stated that the achievements brought recognition to Kamareddy district. He said dedication, guidance, and educational opportunities could help students succeed.
He also appreciated the role of parents and teachers in supporting students and encouraging academic excellence.
Meanwhile, Shabbir Ali urged students to continue their education with commitment and contribute positively to society.
He reiterated the Congress government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector and supporting talented students across Telangana.
Besides students, District Collector Ashish Sangwan, faculty members, parents, and public representatives attended the programme.
