Raghunandan Rao demands probe into Dharani and Bhu Bharati irregularities

Hyderabad: BJP MP Raghunandan Rao demands probe into alleged Dharani and Bhu Bharati irregularities by a sitting High Court judge. He also called for a uniform revenue law across the country.

Farmers and poor people were concerned about the 22A issue, Raghunandan Rao said. He argued that governments should not change revenue laws whenever political power changes.

Speaking to the media in Delhi on Tuesday, the BJP MP targeted statements by Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on 22A lands. According to him, the two leaders had given different views on the issue.

Raghunandan Rao rejected Ponguleti’s claim that the BJP and BRS were acting together. He said opposition parties would raise the same issue whenever it affected the public.

He argued that raising a common public issue did not mean opposition parties had become one. Raghunandan Rao added that he had no family ties with BRS and did not consider Congress an enemy.

The BJP MP further said he had raised the 22A issue in Siddipet before BRS spoke about it. He questioned the basis for describing the BJP and BRS as being on the same side.

Raghunandan Rao demands probe and assigned land data

Raghunandan Rao also demanded clarity on assigned lands. Reports suggested that the government planned to repeal assigned land laws, he said.

The BJP MP called on the state government to release a white paper on assigned lands. He also asked officials to calculate the total extent of assigned land in the state.

On the 22A issue, Raghunandan Rao questioned why Ponguleti had apologised if no wrongdoing had occurred. He also challenged the government’s claim that it had corrected Dharani errors and delivered justice to poor people.

He asked the Congress government to disclose who received justice through those corrections. The MP also sought details of how many people responsible for earlier mistakes had been identified and punished.

Raghunandan Rao questioned why the government had not released a public document listing lands covered under 22A. He alleged that the government was avoiding these answers and instead criticising the BJP and BRS.

The BJP MP also demanded action against anyone found responsible for wrongdoing in the 22A issue. He said those responsible should face dismissal.
