Nalgonda police cordon search targets crime control

Hyderabad: Nalgonda police conducted a large-scale cordon search operation across the town on Tuesday as part of intensified crime control measures, district SP Sharath Chandra Pawar said.

The Nalgonda police cordon search was carried out in several busy areas, including Satish Nagar and other sensitive locations. Police formed 10 teams and conducted inspections during the early morning hours.

Addressing a media conference at the RTC bus stand, the SP said police teams searched nearly 360 houses during the operation. Officers identified 46 suspects and collected their details for further verification.

Police also traced 18 people from other states during the inspections. Among them were 10 persons from Uttar Pradesh, four from Bihar, one from Tamil Nadu, one from Assam and two from Haryana.

Nalgonda police cordon search covers lodges and colonies

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Nalgonda DSP Shivaram Reddy. Around 200 police personnel participated, including seven Circle Inspectors, 18 Sub-Inspectors and a narcotics detection dog squad.

Police teams conducted extensive checks in colonies, suspected locations, lodges, rented rooms, the railway station, bus stand and major junctions. In addition, officers maintained special surveillance at key locations across the town.

During the Nalgonda police cordon search, officers identified two rowdy sheeters and five troublemakers. Police said they placed the identified persons under special monitoring.

Officials also conducted ganja tests on six individuals. Two persons tested positive for ganja consumption.

Police seized 16 bags of illegally stored gutka during the inspections. Moreover, officers confiscated 54 two-wheelers and two autorickshaws that lacked proper registration documents.

Among the seized vehicles, two were found producing excessive noise. Police registered cases against the vehicle owners. Officers also seized four mobile phones during the operation.

Police warned that strict action would continue against rowdy sheeters, habitual offenders and people disturbing law and order. Authorities also asked residents to immediately report suspicious persons and illegal activities.

District police officials stated that such special inspection drives would continue regularly to maintain peace and public safety across Nalgonda district.
