Mega job melas to expand across districts, says Azharuddin

Hyderabad: Minister for Minorities Welfare Mohammed Azharuddin announced that the government would soon organise mega job melas in districts across Telangana, including Nizamabad, to widen employment opportunities for minority youth.

The Minister made the announcement while inaugurating a mega job mela at Red Rose Palace in Nampally under the Telangana government’s Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika. Hyderabad in-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar jointly inaugurated the event. The Minorities Welfare Department and Telangana Minorities Finance Corporation (TGMFC) organised the programme.

Several dignitaries attended the programme, including Rajya Sabha member Anil Kumar Yadav, Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir, TGMFC Chairman Obedullah Kotwal, Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Vice Chairman Faheemuddin Qureshi, Minorities Welfare Secretary B. Shafiullah, Urdu Academy Chairman Taher Bin Hamdan and other senior officials.

Azharuddin praised Kotwal and other stakeholders for organising the event successfully. He said the Telangana government had achieved significant progress during the last two years under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s leadership.

Moreover, the Minister said the government was implementing several initiatives that had remained pending for years. As a result, minority communities were gaining more opportunities for growth and development.

Mega job melas aim for sustainable employment

Azharuddin said the government was creating nearly one lakh employment opportunities. Additionally, he said the Minorities Welfare Department and TGMFC were working together to connect minority youth with meaningful careers.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting youth from all minority communities, including Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and others without discrimination.

The Minister stressed that the objective of the mega job melas was not limited to distributing offer letters. Instead, the focus was on ensuring long-term and sustainable employment for selected candidates.

“We will closely monitor the entire recruitment process. Our responsibility does not end with the issuance of offer letters. We will continue to follow up until candidates successfully join their respective organisations. Providing employment opportunities to our youth is our commitment and responsibility,” he said.

Mega job melas linked to skill development programmes

Azharuddin urged unemployed youth to prioritise education, professional growth and skill enhancement. He also encouraged them to enrol in skill development programmes that TGMFC offers.

“There are several skill development initiatives and industry-oriented training programs available through TGMFC. Youth should actively participate in these programs, improve their skills, attend interviews, and take advantage of the opportunities being created. Hard work, dedication, and skills will pave the way for a successful future,” he said.

Furthermore, TGMFC organised the mega job mela with support from its empanelled training partners. The initiative aimed to provide placement opportunities and career guidance to educated unemployed minority youth.

Around 50 to 60 reputed companies and human resources teams participated in the event. They offered jobs across multiple sectors. Meanwhile, nearly 20 training institutes attended along with former trainees and students currently undergoing training programmes.

The event attracted around 2,000 minority youth from different parts of Telangana. Besides recruitment opportunities, organisers also provided career counselling services. In addition, they registered participants for various skill development courses.
