Hyderabad: Police solved the Kukatpally robbery case involving ₹1 crore dacoity and arrested four accused within 24 hours, recovering a major portion of the stolen cash.
Kukatpally Police, along with CCS Balanagar, conducted the operation and apprehended the accused. Police registered the case under FIR No. 398/2026.
The complainant, Md. Azeemuddin from Bahadurpura, reported the robbery. Police identified the arrested accused as Md. Omer Shareef, Md. Ghouse Saddam, Abdul Hameed and Md. Khusrouddin.
Moreover, five other accused remain absconding in the Kukatpally robbery case.
Kukatpally robbery case planned using insider information
Police said the prime conspirator, Md. Khusrouddin, worked at a firm handling cash collections. He learned that the transactions involved unaccounted hawala money.
He then planned the robbery and contacted Md. Omer Shareef. The group decided to intercept the cash during transit and share the proceeds.
On March 17, Khusrouddin and the complainant travelled to Kukatpally to collect ₹1 crore. They received the cash using a ₹10 note as identification.
After collecting the money, Khusrouddin informed the co-accused about their route. This information enabled the group to execute the robbery.
Kukatpally robbery case executed using chilli powder attack
The accused followed the victims on multiple motorcycles. Near Pillar No. 836, they attacked by throwing chilli powder into their eyes.
As a result, the rider lost control and collided with a bus. Both victims fell to the ground during the incident.
Immediately, the accused snatched the cash bag and fled. One accused also fell during the attack and left behind a Honda Activa at the scene.

Kukatpally robbery case leads to airport arrests
A patrolling constable noticed the incident and alerted senior officers. Police traced the abandoned vehicle to the family of one accused.
During investigation, officials learned that the accused planned to flee to Lucknow. Acting swiftly, police teams rushed to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
They apprehended three accused while attempting to board a flight. During questioning, the accused admitted their role in the offence.
Police seized ₹77,78,195 in cash, five mobile phones, the Honda Activa and flight tickets. The Kukatpally robbery case recovery included a significant portion of the stolen amount.

Police said special teams worked under the supervision of senior officers, including DCP Ritiraj. The coordinated effort led to rapid detection of the case.
Officials stated that teams tracked leads based on vehicle ownership and movement patterns. This helped them locate the accused quickly.
The remaining accused are still absconding. Police said efforts are underway to apprehend them.
