Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao called on Telangana’s youth to question Rahul Gandhi over the Congress government’s alleged failure to fulfil its Youth Declaration promises.
Addressing a meeting of party functionaries in Musheerabad on Saturday, KTR said Rahul Gandhi visited the constituency before the Assembly elections. He said Rahul Gandhi made several promises to unemployed youth and students. KTR alleged that Congress abandoned those commitments after winning votes.
KTR said Rahul Gandhi promised jobs, a job calendar and support for young people facing injustice. However, he claimed that neither Rahul Gandhi nor the Congress government fulfilled those assurances after taking office.
“Rahul Gandhi told Telangana’s youth that he would stand with them if they faced injustice. Today, the same youth have been left in the lurch. Congress used unemployed youth and students for electoral gains and has now completely ignored them,” KTR said.
KTR also alleged that the Congress government had not created significant new jobs. Instead, he claimed that the government only completed recruitment drives that the previous BRS administration had started.
Youth Declaration promises become focus of KTR criticism
KTR urged Telangana’s youth to hold Rahul Gandhi accountable for what he described as a betrayal of their aspirations. He maintained that the Congress government had not honoured the Youth Declaration promises made during the election campaign.
The BRS leader also spoke about the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He urged party workers to stay alert during the exercise. He also warned them about possible irregularities in voter registration and verification.
During the meeting, KTR presented a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the SIR process. He also interacted with Booth Level Agents the party had chosen for the exercise.
KTR instructed BRS-appointed Booth Level Agents to protect every genuine vote. He asked them to ensure that authorities did not remove any eligible voter from the electoral rolls. At the same time, he warned about possible attempts to add duplicate or bogus votes. Therefore, he urged party workers to remain vigilant throughout the process.
