Hyderabad: BRS working president KTR condemns attack on PRO Mahesh and PA Mahendar Reddy at Saifabad police station. He alleged that 15 masked men entered the station and attacked the two men.
KTR said police had illegally detained his staff for questioning on the day the Assembly session began. He described the alleged group attack inside the police station as a serious incident.
The BRS working president questioned whether Congress workers carried out the alleged attack. He also raised doubts over the possible involvement of police personnel in plain clothes.
KTR alleged that Telangana had witnessed a “rowdy and goonda rule” under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He demanded an immediate inquiry by a sitting judge into the incident.
According to KTR, police had summoned Mahesh and Mahendar Reddy for questioning in a case that he described as politically motivated. He alleged that the attack took place in the presence of police personnel and claimed that the Chief Minister had a role in the incident.
KTR also questioned the delay in the proceedings. Police had asked the two men to appear for questioning in the morning, but the process continued until evening, he said.
KTR condemns attack and demands protection for injured staff
KTR alleged that the delay indicated a possible prior plan to attack the two men. He also referred to High Court orders directing that police take no action against Mahesh and Mahendar Reddy until further orders.
He alleged that the incident formed part of a political vendetta despite the court’s directions. KTR said Chief Minister and Home Minister Revanth Reddy should take full responsibility for the incident.
The BRS working president demanded immediate security for Mahesh and Mahendar Reddy. He also sought better medical treatment for the two men, whom he said suffered injuries in the alleged masked attack.
KTR further demanded that police preserve CCTV footage from cameras inside and outside the police station. He said investigators should identify everyone involved in the alleged attack.
He called for strict action against those responsible. KTR warned that the BRS would not remain silent if the authorities failed to act against those involved.
