Uttam Kumar Reddy seeks Hare Krishna Foundation kitchen for Suryapet schools

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy held a detailed meeting with Swami Ravi Lochana Das of the Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation to discuss nutritious food for students.

During the meeting, the minister highlighted the foundation’s work through centralised kitchens. The organisation has been using CSR funds to run these kitchens and provide nutritious breakfasts to economically disadvantaged students in government schools.

In addition, he asked the foundation to establish and operate a centralised kitchen in Suryapet district. The proposed facility would require an estimated investment of Rs 9 crore.

Once operational, the kitchen would have the capacity to supply nearly 60,000 nutritious meals every day. It would serve students across about 1,029 government schools and junior colleges in the district.

Furthermore, the minister and foundation representatives discussed the implementation process in detail. He said he would coordinate with the concerned departments and other stakeholders to take the proposal forward.

Meanwhile, the minister praised the foundation for its service through centralised kitchens. He said the organisation was providing nutritious breakfasts to underprivileged students studying in government institutions.

According to the proposal discussed at the meeting, the new facility would serve students across Suryapet district. Moreover, the project would use CSR funds for its construction and operation.

The minister said meetings with representatives of the Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation were always satisfying. He appreciated the organisation’s service to humanity.

At the same time, he said he would work with the relevant departments and partners to advance the proposed programme.
