Hyderabad: Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Minister Vivek Venkataswamy attended the Konijeti Rosaiah birth anniversary programme in Hyderabad on Saturday. The Telangana Language and Culture Department and the Konijeti Rosaiah Memorial Trust jointly organised the event to mark the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s 93rd birth anniversary.
The ministers felicitated noted scholar and Padma Shri awardee Garikapati Narasimha Rao. They also unveiled the logo of the KSR Education Foundation.
Konijeti Rosaiah birth anniversary marked by tributes
Paying tribute to Rosaiah, Ponnam Prabhakar described him as a leader who stood for integrity, commitment and values. He said Rosaiah served the public for more than five decades. During his career, he served as an MLA, MLC, Finance Minister, Chief Minister and Governor of Tamil Nadu.
The minister said Rosaiah earned respect across political parties for his command over public finance. He also praised the former Chief Minister’s commitment to fiscal discipline. According to him, Rosaiah guided the state through difficult circumstances while upholding democratic values with dignity and responsibility.
Recalling his association with Rosaiah, Ponnam Prabhakar said he met the veteran leader several times while serving as NSUI president alongside his political mentor Chokka Rao. He said Rosaiah was then the PCC president. The minister added that he later worked with Rosaiah when he served as Chief Minister and Governor of Tamil Nadu.
Ponnam Prabhakar said Rosaiah’s life remained an example of financial discipline and public service. He urged young political leaders to follow Rosaiah’s simplicity, values and commitment to ethical politics.
Government Whip Birla Ilaiah, MLA Vinod, former minister T. G. Venkatesh and former MP K. V. P. Ramachandra Rao attended the programme. Vaishya Corporation Chairperson Kalva Sujatha, IAS officer Vani Prasad and several other public representatives were also present.
