Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) founder and president K. Kavitha on Wednesday called the BJP the “British Jahil Party” while accusing the ruling party of suppressing democratic dissent and using force against peaceful student protesters. She also urged Gen Z to enter politics and defend democracy.
Kavitha said the “British Jahil Party” had adopted methods similar to those used by the British to silence dissent. She alleged that the government was trying to crush the voices of students instead of responding to their concerns.
She said India’s freedom struggle was fought to ensure citizens could question those in power without fear. Kavitha also alleged that the police action against students in Delhi had shaken the conscience of the nation.
British Jahil Party remark targets BJP’s response
Kavitha said history remembered not only the use of lathis but also those who ordered them. She questioned why the government was afraid of students raising their voices.
Meanwhile, Kavitha urged people to defend democracy and protect the right to dissent. She appealed to Gen Z to enter public life, participate in politics and become the change India deserved.
BJP isn’t the Bharatiya Janata Party. It’s the BRITISH “Jahil” Party.
The British crushed dissent to protect their rule. Today, this government responds to peaceful protests with lathis and intimidation. The rulers have changed, but the playbook looks disturbingly familiar.… pic.twitter.com/aGQZ4y4DZ6
