Lorry stuck on railway tracks disrupts train services in Peddapalli

Hyderabad: A lorry stuck on railway tracks near the Peddapalli-Kunaram Road Over Bridge (ROB) disrupted train services in Peddapalli district on Wednesday night. Railway officials immediately halted several trains and launched an operation to remove the stranded vehicle.

The lorry was transporting grain from Mangapet in Kalva Srirampur mandal to Andhra Pradesh when it reached the Peddapalli-Kunaram ROB. However, the vehicle became stranded because of the uneven track surface and its heavy load.

Railway officials, along with local residents, first tried to push the lorry away from the tracks. However, the effort failed, prompting authorities to bring in a crane to clear the obstruction.

The crane eventually removed the lorry from the railway tracks, allowing officials to restore train movement. Nevertheless, the incident disrupted rail traffic for some time before services returned to normal.

Meanwhile, local residents alleged that recent repair works at the crossing were not carried out properly. They claimed the uneven surface contributed to the lorry getting stuck on the tracks.

No injuries were reported in the incident. Railway authorities managed the situation and restored operations after clearing the obstruction.
