Hyderabad: Burglars targeted 10 shops at the Jathara Ground in Vemulawada, Rajanna Sircilla district, on Wednesday and escaped with cash and valuables worth about ₹3.3 lakh. Police registered a case and launched an investigation after shop owners lodged complaints.
The thieves broke into bangle shops, toy stores and outlets that rent cooking utensils. According to the complainants, they stole goods worth around ₹3 lakh along with ₹30,000 in cash.
The burglars also entered a utensil rental shop during the theft. There, they reportedly cooked egg curry and bagara rice, ate the meal and drank soft drinks before leaving the premises.

The incident created concern among traders at the Jathara Ground, where several shops suffered losses in a single operation. Meanwhile, police began collecting evidence and examining the affected shops to identify those responsible.
Investigators are verifying the circumstances surrounding the thefts and gathering available clues. However, police have not announced any arrests in the case so far.
