Hyderabad: Hyderabad Traffic Police have issued a fresh warning against minor driving, stating that allowing underage individuals to operate vehicles is a serious offence that can result in legal action against parents or guardians.
In a road safety awareness message, the department stressed that handing over a vehicle to a minor endangers not only the child but also other road users. Officials said such violations could attract penalties and prosecution under the Motor Vehicles Act.
The police reiterated that only individuals holding a valid driving licence are permitted to drive on public roads. Authorities urged families to ensure that children do not operate two-wheelers, cars or other vehicles before reaching the legal age and obtaining the required licence.
The department said preventing underage driving is a shared responsibility and called on citizens to support efforts aimed at improving road safety across the city.

Officials warned that minor driving often leads to accidents due to a lack of driving experience, road awareness and legal eligibility. They noted that responsible supervision by parents and guardians can help prevent avoidable tragedies.
The awareness campaign also emphasised the message, “No Licence. No Driving,” while encouraging families to prioritise safety and compliance with traffic regulations.
Hyderabad Traffic Police said their ongoing road safety initiatives are focused on reducing traffic violations and creating safer roads for motorists, pedestrians and children throughout the city.
