Hyderabad Traffic Police book man for fake number plate use

Hyderabad: Fake number plate case surfaced in the city after Hyderabad Traffic Police detected misuse of a vehicle registration and booked an accused.

Police identified the violation based on credible information. Subsequently, Abids Police registered a criminal case and apprehended the accused, Shaik Mustafa, 29, a resident of Basharath Nagar.

Investigators found that he used a fake number plate TS12EX4899 on his Suzuki Burgman instead of the original TS12EU5663. As a result, multiple traffic violations were wrongly linked to the genuine vehicle owner.

Fake number plate case exposes misuse to evade penalties

Police said the accused altered the registration to evade traffic enforcement, fines, and finance recovery agents. Meanwhile, authorities registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act.

Officials issued notice to the accused and continued the investigation. In addition, Hyderabad Traffic Police and Abids Police coordinated to detect the case.

Police warned that using fake or tampered number plates is a serious offence. Therefore, they said strict legal action will follow against violators.

Authorities advised citizens to report such misuse through official channels, including the e-challan portal, email, and WhatsApp helpline.
