Hyderabad Police deploy 2,000 personnel for Golconda Bonalu security

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police deployed around 2,000 personnel for Golconda Bonalu as the Ashada Bonalu celebrations commenced on Thursday with the offering of the first Bonam to Goddess Jagadambika Mahankali.

Commissioner of Police V.C. Sajjanar personally inspected the security arrangements from the foothills to the top of Golconda Fort. He also reviewed the overall bandobust measures.

After the inspection, Sajjanar visited the temple, offered prayers and participated in special rituals.

Golconda Bonalu security under multi-layer surveillance

The Commissioner said the police had made comprehensive arrangements to ensure devotees faced no inconvenience. Additionally, special police contingents had been deployed along the entire stretch from Langar Houz X Roads to the temple.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad Police activated drone cameras and an extensive CCTV network for continuous surveillance. Further, the Crime Wing intensified vigil against pickpocketing and chain snatching. At the same time, SHE Teams remained on patrol to ensure the safety of women devotees.

Besides this, the Traffic Police arranged dedicated parking facilities and traffic management measures to ensure smooth movement of vehicles during the festivities.

Moreover, Sajjanar said the Law and Order and Traffic wings were working in close coordination with other government departments. As a result, the joint effort would help conduct the festival in a peaceful, secure and spiritually enriching atmosphere.

Joint CP (Traffic) D. Joel Davis, DCP (CAR Headquarters) R. Venkateswarlu, DCP (Golconda Zone) J. Raghavendra Reddy and other senior police officials participated in the field inspection.
