Hyderabad: The Hyderabad District Congress Committee on Thursday launched a dedicated SIR helpline to assist voters during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud launched the helpline number 88267 77445. The initiative aims to help eligible voters complete the verification process and safeguard their enrolment.
The helpline will function daily from 10 am to 10 pm. Voters can seek guidance on enumeration forms, supporting documents, verification procedures and BLO-related issues.
SIR helpline to support voters across Hyderabad
Hyderabad DCC president Syed Khalid Saifullah said the service would help voters who had not been contacted by Booth Level Officers. It would also assist those who were unsure about filling out enumeration forms.
Additionally, voters who had not received forms could contact the helpline. They need to provide details of their constituency, polling station and residential area. Party representatives would then guide them and arrange local assistance if required.
The helpline will also explain specific columns in the forms and clarify documentary requirements. This will help voters complete the process correctly and avoid verification delays.
Meanwhile, the service will assist voters whose names have been marked under the anomaly category. Representatives will explain the reason for the anomaly and the documents needed for rectification.
Further, voters seeking corrections in names, addresses, age or other electoral details can obtain preliminary guidance. However, only the Election Commission can approve any inclusion, deletion or correction.
Saifullah said the initiative would complement the official SIR process by improving public awareness. However, it would not replace the role of election authorities or Booth Level Officers.
The Congress said 101 Hyderabad DCC office-bearers, 44 local unit presidents and nearly 1,200 Booth Level Agents had joined the initiative.
Initially, trained representatives will resolve queries over the phone. If needed, the District Congress Committee will send a Booth Level Agent or local party representative to the voter’s residence.
The party said the service would especially benefit senior citizens, persons with disabilities, women and economically weaker families. Finally, Saifullah urged voters to complete the verification process without delay and use the SIR helpline between 10 am and 10 pm.
