Hyderabad: A Charminar Zone SI suspension followed a departmental inquiry into allegations that a sub-inspector maintained an inappropriate relationship with a woman police constable, according to official sources.
The sub-inspector served in the Charminar Zone before authorities transferred him to Golconda. However, he allegedly continued working at his previous police station without obtaining formal relief.
Officials said his continued presence at the station reportedly triggered a dispute. The SI’s wife submitted a complaint to the Director General of Police (DGP). She alleged that her husband had an inappropriate relationship with a woman constable.
Charminar Zone SI suspension follows inquiry
Senior police officers investigated the complaint and submitted their findings to the Hyderabad Police Commissioner. After examining the inquiry report, the Commissioner ordered the SI suspension, sources said.
Authorities also attached the woman constable to the police headquarters as part of the departmental action. Police have not disclosed the inquiry findings. Officials are continuing the departmental proceedings under the applicable service rules.
