Woman critical after axe attack in Tiryani village

Hyderabad: A woman suffered critical injuries in a Tiryani axe attack after a man allegedly assaulted her with an axe in Talandi village of Tiryani mandal in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district. Police registered a case and started an investigation.

According to preliminary information, the victim, Kursenga Jyothi, got into a minor altercation with her relative, Tekam Tirupati. Following the argument, Tirupati allegedly picked up an axe from the house and attacked her repeatedly.

Immediately, local residents shifted Jyothi to a government hospital. Later, doctors referred her from Mancherial to a hospital in Warangal after her condition became critical.

Meanwhile, police are investigating the reason behind the dispute. Officers registered a case and continued their inquiry.

Earlier, two murder cases occurred under the Rebbena police circle within four days. Relatives of a young woman allegedly stabbed Vemunuri Swami of Narayanpur to death after suspecting him of helping her leave home.

In another incident, unidentified persons allegedly hacked an elderly man, Somayya, to death in Persanambala village of Rebbena mandal on Friday.

Consequently, the recent incidents triggered concern among residents in the Rebbena police circle.
