Hyderabad: The Hyderabad City Police Commissioner’s Task Force counselled 100 drug users and peddlers as part of an anti-narcotics campaign aimed at curbing substance abuse and trafficking.
The programme was conducted by the Task Force teams of Shamshabad and Rajendranagar Zones on Tuesday.
Officials organised the anti-narcotics campaign to encourage participants to overcome addiction, adopt healthier lifestyles and return to mainstream society.
The initiative formed part of the Hyderabad Police’s broader efforts to reduce drug and ganja consumption across the city and surrounding areas.

Renowned psychologist and emotional intelligence coach Dr. Chinmayee Tammareddy addressed the participants during the session.
She spoke about mental health, emotional resilience and the challenges associated with overcoming substance dependence.
Meanwhile, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence narcotics specialist A. Rangadham explained the legal, social and health consequences of narcotics abuse.
Officials said the programme aimed to create awareness about the dangers of drug consumption while promoting rehabilitation and behavioural change.
Inspectors K. Venkat Reddy and K. Ravi supervised the counselling sessions. Personnel from the Shamshabad and Rajendranagar Task Force teams also participated in the programme.
Hyderabad Police reiterated their commitment to building a drug-free city. They also urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting drug-related activities.
