Hyderabad: The GHMC meat shops closure order will shut all sheep and goat and cattle slaughterhouses, along with retail meat and beef shops, on September 4.
The order covers all such establishments within GHMC limits. The civic body issued the direction in view of Sri Krishna Janmashtami.
GHMC cited Section 533(b) of the GHMC Act, 1955, while issuing the closure order. The civic administration said it took the decision considering the significance of Janmashtami.
The GHMC directed the concerned establishments to stop operations on the specified date.

GHMC Commissioner R. V. Karnan sought the cooperation of the Hyderabad Police Commissioners to enforce the order.
Karnan asked the police authorities to extend full support to municipal officials during the enforcement process.
The direction covers sheep and goat slaughterhouses, cattle slaughterhouses, and retail meat and beef shops across the GHMC jurisdiction.
GHMC scheduled the closure for September 4 in connection with Sri Krishna Janmashtami.
The civic body will enforce the order across its limits on the specified date.
