Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to expedite Old City metro works under the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-2 project on Tuesday.
Revanth Reddy reviewed the Metro Rail project with senior officials of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited. He directed them to speed up road widening along the 7.5-km MGBS-Chandrayangutta stretch.
The Chief Minister also asked officials to begin the tender process for Metro works on the corridor. He sought an update on pending land acquisition and instructed authorities to finalise the expansion plans immediately.
Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy reviewed the rising ridership on the Hyderabad Metro. He stressed the need for measures to manage the growing passenger load.
The Chief Minister directed officials to procure additional Metro rail coaches. He said the authorities should take suitable steps to accommodate the increasing number of passengers.
Old City metro works to get technology support from Delhi Metro
For the 7.5-km MGBS-Chandrayangutta corridor under Phase-2, Revanth Reddy asked officials to consult Delhi Metro on the appropriate technology for the project.
The meeting also covered preparations for the Invest Telangana Global Summit scheduled for December. Officials discussed organisational arrangements and plans to honour prominent personalities from different business sectors.
Revanth Reddy stressed the need to conduct the summit to international standards. He said the event should help attract global investments to Telangana.
The Chief Minister also asked officials to submit a detailed report on investments attracted and progress achieved after last year’s summit.
Based on the report, officials will prepare plans to further improve investment attraction, he said.
State Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Government Advisors Ramakrishna Rao and NVS Reddy, Metro Rail MD Sarfaraz Ahmed and Additional MD Ajit Reddy attended the meeting.
Other senior officials also participated in the review.
