Hyderabad: Police arrested two accused in a gold chain snatching case involving an elderly woman in Mancherial district, recovering the stolen ornament within hours of the offence.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Prakash said the incident occurred on Monday morning in Vempalli village under Hajipur police station limits.
Gold chain snatching case solved within hours
According to police, the elderly woman was walking alone at around 9:30 AM when two men approached her on a motorcycle. They threatened her and forcibly snatched her gold chain from her neck before fleeing the scene.
Following the complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation. Acting on the directions of DCP Bhaskar, special teams intensified checks across the المنطقة.
Based on credible information, police intercepted two suspects near the Yellampalli project gate while they were heading towards Ramagundam. Officers then took them into custody.
Gold chain snatching accused identified and remanded
Police identified the accused as Vijethala Srinivas and Dasarapu Satish, both associated with NTPC Ramagundam. During the operation, officers recovered the stolen gold chain, the motorcycle used in the crime, two mobile phones, vehicle documents, a packet of chilli powder weighing 50 grams, and two glasses.
Investigators registered a case against the accused and produced them before the court. The court later remanded them to judicial custody.
Senior officials commended the police team for solving the case within 10 hours. The team included CI Ravinder, ASI Ejaz, and constables Satyanarayana, Rajender, Srinivas, and Narendra.
