Double murder case Mirchowk solved, accused arrested in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Mirchowk police arrested an accused in a double murder case within 24 hours of the crime and recovered key evidence, including the weapon used in the offence.

The accused, Adil Khan, was apprehended on April 21 at around 2:00 PM in connection with Crime No.113/2026 registered under Section 103(1) of BNS at Mirchowk police station.

According to police, the incident took place on April 20 at around 6:00 PM at Sulthanpura. The deceased, Aqueel Khan, 30, a driver, was present at his residence along with his wife Ajmeera Begum, 26.

At that time, the accused, who is the elder brother of Aqueel Khan, entered the house with a knife. He attacked both victims and inflicted stab injuries to their neck and chest.

Both victims died on the spot due to the injuries. After committing the crime, the accused fled from the scene.

During the investigation, police teams tracked and arrested the accused on April 21. Officers recovered a mobile phone and blood-stained clothes from him. They also seized the knife used in the attack from the crime scene.

Police identified the accused as Adil Khan, 35, who worked in fabrication and was associated with Pahadishareef in Ranga Reddy district.

Preliminary investigation revealed multiple motives. These included jealousy over the couple having children, disagreements over adoption, and financial disputes involving hand loans.

Police said the accused had a longstanding personal grudge against the couple. This conflict eventually led to the double murder.

Senior officers supervised the investigation. They appreciated the Mirchowk police team for solving the case swiftly.

The team included SHO M. Kondal Rao, Detective Inspector N. Saidiah, SI Santhosh Kumar, WSI Anitha, and constables Arun Kumar, R. Bhaskar, and Shiva Goud.
