Hyderabad: The Telangana Gangaputra Sangham on Thursday urged the State government to appoint leaders from the community who actively participated in the Telangana movement to nominated positions.
State secretary T. Rajesh Khanna Gangaputra submitted a representation to Telangana movement committee member and MLC Prof. Kodandaram during a meeting at the Telangana Amarajyothi premises. He said the appointments would recognise the contribution of Gangaputra leaders to the Statehood movement.
Rajesh Khanna said senior advocate Ambati Srinivas of Warangal and educationist Doli Satyanarayana played active roles in the movement under the leadership of Prof. Kodandaram. Moreover, he requested the government to consider them for nominated positions.
Gangaputra nominated posts sought for movement participants
The Sangham also appealed to the government to extend similar recognition to other Gangaputra leaders who took part in the Telangana movement. It maintained that those who contributed to the Statehood struggle deserved representation through nominated posts.
