Damodar Rajanarsimha assures transparent Health Department transfers

Hyderabad: Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha said Health Department transfers would be conducted transparently in accordance with GO 38 issued by the government.

The minister held a meeting with representatives of the Government Doctors Association on Monday at the Secretariat. Senior Health Department officials and TGDA representatives attended the meeting.

Doctors requested the government to conduct transfers offline in a transparent manner, similar to previous general transfer exercises. They also sought exemption from transfers for TGDA office bearers.

Association representatives requested inclusion of doctors who completed two years of service in the transfer process. They also sought an opportunity for doctors working in district medical colleges to move to colleges in Hyderabad.

Health Department transfers to follow GO 38 norms

Responding to the requests, Damodar Rajanarsimha reiterated that officials would implement transfers transparently under GO 38.

The minister said the government was strengthening medical education and upgrading hospitals to improve healthcare services in the state. He said doctors’ cooperation was necessary to achieve these objectives.

Damodar Rajanarsimha said officials would conduct transfers while considering the requirements of colleges and hospitals. He assured doctors that administration, teaching and clinical services would continue without disruption.

The minister also said doctors serving for long periods in district hospitals and colleges would get opportunities during the transfer process.
