Monsoon traffic plan reviewed by Cyberabad CP

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner directed officials to ensure smooth monsoon traffic movement across the city and asked them to stay prepared to tackle rain-related disruptions. He instructed officers to continuously monitor waterlogging points and coordinate with GHMC and other government departments to resolve problems without delay.

The Commissioner also reviewed the deployment of around 150 personnel from the Greyhounds and OCTOPUS units, who assist in traffic management. He directed them to remain accessible to the public and respond promptly during heavy rainfall.

Monsoon traffic plan targets waterlogging hotspots

The Commissioner instructed officials to take strict action against traffic violations, particularly wrong-route driving. He also directed police to prevent motorists from blocking free left turns and U-turns at busy junctions.

Further, he asked officials to install barricades wherever necessary and regulate traffic effectively. He also called for a comprehensive master document identifying waterlogging black spots and outlining permanent solutions for those locations.

The Commissioner directed all agencies to coordinate with traffic police before taking up road-cutting works. He also instructed them to implement traffic diversion plans in advance to minimise inconvenience to commuters.

Meanwhile, he reviewed the progress of works at Wipro Junction, DLF Junction, Shapur Nagar, Kukatpally Y-Junction, Miyapur and Nizampet. He instructed the concerned departments to complete the projects at the earliest, keeping the monsoon season in view.

The Commissioner also stressed the safety of traffic personnel working during the night and in heavy rain. He instructed them to wear reflective jackets and raincoats while on duty. Finally, he warned that the department would not tolerate negligence in traffic management during the monsoon.
