DGP reviews Greyhounds combat readiness and training standards

Hyderabad: Director General of Police CV Anand on Thursday reviewed Greyhounds combat readiness and directed the elite anti-insurgency force to continuously upgrade its training standards and operational preparedness.

During his visit to the Greyhounds headquarters, the DGP conducted a detailed review meeting on operational and administrative matters concerning the force. He assessed the unit’s performance in anti-Maoist operations and other assigned duties.

CV Anand reviewed the existing training curriculum, standards and operational modules being imparted to personnel. He stressed the need to modernise training methods in line with changing operational requirements.

The DGP instructed the Greyhounds leadership to further improve operational efficiency and maintain a high degree of mission readiness. He also emphasised the importance of regular firing practice and rigorous combat training for personnel.

Greyhounds combat readiness linked to manpower review

During the meeting, the DGP also reviewed issues related to the reduction in Greyhounds personnel strength following the decline in Maoist activities in the region.

He informed officers that the proposal concerning 708 surrendered posts in Greyhounds was currently pending with the government. He further stated that notified repatriations would be implemented after the government issued the required orders.

CV Anand appreciated the commitment and dedication of Greyhounds personnel during the review meeting. He said the force must continue to uphold its reputation as one of the country’s leading anti-insurgency units through professionalism, discipline and operational preparedness.
