Hyderabad: TPCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud on Monday said the Congress Talent Hunt programme would create opportunities for talented youth aspiring to enter politics.
Speaking at a press conference in Gandhi Bhavan, he said the initiative emerged from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s vision of encouraging greater youth participation in public life.
Furthermore, Mahesh Kumar Goud said the party had introduced a new method for selecting official spokespersons.
According to him, the programme would welcome talented individuals who wish to serve society through politics.
Congress Talent Hunt focuses on talent and public service
Mahesh Kumar Goud said the initiative would identify people with a strong understanding of national politics.
Additionally, candidates should be familiar with current political developments in Telangana.
He also said applicants should possess a sound understanding of secularism, a core principle of the Congress party.
Meanwhile, the TPCC chief described the programme as a platform for individuals who want to contribute to society.
Furthermore, he said the initiative would encourage capable young people to pursue political careers.
According to Mahesh Kumar Goud, the selection process would focus on talent and knowledge.
It would also assess a candidate’s commitment to public service.
However, political affiliations would not be the primary criterion for selection.
Instead, the party would prioritise merit and social commitment.
He expressed confidence that the Congress Talent Hunt would bring fresh talent into politics.
Moreover, he said the programme would strengthen public participation in democratic processes.
