Congress leaders join BRS in Medak’s Narsapur, Harish Rao slams Revanth government

Hyderabad: The Congress party suffered a setback in Narsapur constituency of Medak district after several key leaders joined the BRS, citing administrative failures and a preference for development under the pink party.

This political shift occurred in the presence of senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao, along with local MLA Sunitha Lakshma Reddy. Among the defectors was former ZPTC member Anjaneyulu. Others who followed included Sharath Chandra, Mallesh, Narasimha Reddy, Aravind Babu, and several grassroots Congress leaders and party workers.

Welcoming the new entrants, Harish Rao accused the Congress of betraying public trust. He alleged that the party had failed every section of society. Furthermore, he claimed that no region had seen progress under the Congress-led administration. According to him, the current government had reversed the development seen during BRS rule.

Harish Rao targets Revanth Reddy on failed guarantees

Harish Rao dismissed the Congress party’s six guarantees as deceptive, labelling them “420 promises” aimed solely at misleading voters. He said the Revanth Reddy government had let down older citizens, women, students, the unemployed, and public employees alike.

Additionally, he criticised the government’s handling of agriculture. “Transformers are burning due to low voltage. Crops are drying without water, and procurement centres are either missing or non-functional,” he said. As a result, farmers were being exploited by private grain traders, he alleged.

He further said the Congress had abandoned major welfare schemes including Rythu Bandhu, loan waivers, crop insurance, and bonuses. Harish Rao urged BRS cadres to actively inform the public about what he described as the Congress party’s false promises and failures.

Calling on workers to unite under KCR’s leadership, he asserted that the BRS flag would once again fly across the undivided Medak district in the upcoming local body polls.
