Hyderabad: Hyderabad Cyber Police issued an alert about the Blue Dart delivery scam. Officials warned citizens against fraudsters impersonating courier company representatives.
According to the advisory, scammers contact victims while posing as delivery executives. They claim they are unable to locate the delivery address.
The fraudsters then ask victims to dial codes such as *21*MobileNumber#. They falsely claim the code will help them identify the location.
Cyber Police said the scam allows fraudsters to activate call forwarding on a victim’s mobile number.

Meanwhile, once call forwarding is enabled, fraudsters can intercept verification calls and one-time passwords. They may then gain access to WhatsApp accounts.
Officials said scammers often misuse compromised accounts to target the victim’s contacts.
Authorities advised citizens not to dial codes shared by unknown callers. They also urged people not to share OTPs or verification codes.
Further, Hyderabad Cyber Police asked the public to verify delivery-related calls through official customer support channels before taking any action.
