Bhu Bharati initiative key to resolving decades-old land disputes: Komatireddy

Hyderabad: The Telangana government will seek permanent solutions to long-standing land disputes through the Bhu Bharati initiative, Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said on Saturday.

Komatireddy, along with Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, distributed Pattadar Passbooks to beneficiaries from Nuthankal and Maddirala mandals at Nuthankal in Suryapet district.

The Minister described the resolution of decades-old land disputes in nine villages as a historic milestone. He said a land title would give farmers full legal rights.

“A land title confers full legal rights on a farmer, just as an Indiramma house restores dignity and self-respect to a poor family,” Komatireddy said.

The Bhu Bharati initiative would address persistent land-related issues across Telangana, he said. Accordingly, the government would continue working towards lasting solutions to such disputes.

Bhu Bharati initiative and welfare measures

Komatireddy also highlighted the Indiramma Housing Scheme. Under the scheme, the State government provides ₹5 lakh to each eligible family for house construction.

He described the assistance as an unprecedented welfare measure in the country. Furthermore, he said the scheme would continue irrespective of Central fund allocations.

The government’s objective was to build a “hut-free Telangana”, the Minister said. Therefore, he reaffirmed its commitment to continuing housing assistance for eligible families.

Komatireddy also listed several welfare measures. These included the ₹20,000 crore farm loan waiver and ongoing Rythu Bharosa deposits.

In addition, he referred to free bus transport for women and subsidised fine rice distribution. He said the measures formed part of the government’s broader welfare initiatives.

₹36,000 crore road works underway

Turning to infrastructure, Komatireddy said road development projects worth ₹36,000 crore were underway across Telangana under the Hybrid Annuity Model.

He said the government was pursuing development programmes despite the debt burden it had inherited.

MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, MLA Mandula Samuel and District Collector Tejas Nandlal Pawar attended the programme along with other officials and public representatives.
