Hyderabad: Telangana Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced an 18-month deadline for the statewide land resurvey on Friday. The government has prepared a dedicated action plan to complete the exercise and reduce land disputes across the State.
Speaking at a review meeting at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Secretariat, the minister stressed the need for accurate surveys. He said the initiative aimed to create a State free of land disputes through comprehensive resurvey work.
To ensure quality and faster implementation, the government appointed 14 supervisory officials across seven zones. Two officials each from the Revenue and Survey departments will oversee the work in every zone.
These officials will assess survey quality, monitor public feedback and make local decisions wherever necessary. Meanwhile, the government will establish a dedicated dashboard in Hyderabad to track progress in real time.
The first phase is currently underway in 2,768 villages, including 365 unmapped villages and 70 designated villages per district. According to Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, survey work has already been completed in 245 villages.
Telangana land resurvey targets November phase completion
The government has set the end of November as the deadline for completing Phase 1 of the Telangana land resurvey. Officials will continue monitoring the work to ensure accuracy and timely execution across the selected villages.
The minister also highlighted a discrepancy detected during the survey in Erravalli village of Siddipet district. Officials identified a 45-acre difference within a total extent of 385 acres and issued fresh survey notices.
Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy further stated that authorities would reclaim assigned lands illegally transferred in the area. The government would redistribute those lands to eligible poor families, he said.
The 18-month action plan combines statewide survey work with zonal supervision and real-time progress monitoring. The government aims to improve land records and address discrepancies through the ongoing exercise.
