Hyderabad: Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy directed Telangana election officials to ensure strict compliance with procedures for SIR-2026 notice delivery, claims, objections and hearings.

The CEO held a video conference with the GHMC Commissioner and Hyderabad District Election Officer, along with District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Vasam Venkateswar Reddy and Deputy CEO G.S. Chary also participated in the meeting.

The officials reviewed the progress of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026. The CEO focused on notice delivery, hearing schedules and the handling of claims and objections.

Reddy directed officials to ensure that every notice reached the concerned elector personally through the Booth Level Officer. The BLO must obtain proper acknowledgement from the elector.

He also instructed officials to strictly maintain the prescribed seven-day notice period. In addition, BLOs should remind electors about the hearing date, time and venue at least two days before the hearing.

SIR-2026 notice delivery and hearing process reviewed

The CEO directed officials to give wide publicity to the documents prescribed for submission by electors. This would help voters understand the requirements before attending hearings.

He also asked officials to prepare hearing schedules according to the number of cases. AEROs and Additional AEROs should be consulted while preparing the schedules.

Furthermore, officials must maintain proper supervision over notice service and hearings. The CEO stressed that each stage of the process should follow the prescribed procedure.

Officials must also properly document and record every activity connected with the revision. The CEO said this was necessary to achieve the objective of SIR.

Reddy directed officials to share lists of No Mapping and Anomalies cases with political parties. Claims and Objections lists should also reach political parties every week during political party meetings.

District-wise progress reviewed

The CEO subsequently reviewed progress with District Election Officers across Telangana. The review covered notice service, hearing schedules and distribution of cases among AEROs and Additional AEROs.

Officials also discussed the arrangements made for conducting hearings and monitoring the delivery of notices.

The meeting included the Nodal Officers and Project Manager (IT). The CEO reiterated the need for proper documentation and adherence to the prescribed procedure throughout SIR-2026.
