Hyderabad: Telangana and Mauritius discussed expanding cooperation in IT, tourism, skill development, education and public administration during a meeting between their Ministers on Saturday.
Mauritius Minister for Public Service and Administrative Reforms Luchmanen Pethia met Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu at the Secretariat.
The talks covered public administration, tourism, IT and IT-enabled services. Emerging technologies, education and skill development also featured in the discussions.
Pethia described Telangana as a trusted partner for Mauritius. He expressed interest in cooperation on capacity building and modern administrative practices.
The Mauritius Minister also sought Telangana’s support in improving the capabilities of Mauritius government employees. He proposed training and knowledge-sharing initiatives between the two sides.
Telangana Mauritius cooperation to cover skills and administration
Pethia expressed interest in working with the MCRHRD, Young India Skills University and other educational and skill-development institutions in Telangana.
He said such cooperation could support capacity building in Mauritius. The discussions also covered opportunities to exchange knowledge and administrative practices.
Sridhar Babu said Telangana was ready to cooperate with Mauritius across sectors. He said the State government placed importance on international partnerships and knowledge exchange.
In particular, the Minister pointed to areas where Telangana had developed expertise. He said the State was prepared to share that experience with Mauritius.
The discussions also covered IT and IT-enabled services. In addition, the two sides considered emerging technologies and education as areas for greater cooperation.
Tourism was another area discussed during the meeting. The proposed collaboration would cover multiple sectors rather than focus on a single field.
Ministers discuss Telangana Rising Global Summit
Sridhar Babu invited Pethia to participate in the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2026. The State government will organise the summit on December 7 and 8.
The invitation formed part of the discussions on strengthening international partnerships. Pethia’s participation would provide an opportunity to explore further cooperation between Telangana and Mauritius.
Secretary for Public Service Devendra Gopal attended the meeting. AIPSI Board Chairperson Dr. Nicholas Ragodoo and AIPSI Registrar Dr. Ramesh Durbary were also present.
MEA Branch Secretariat Head Madhav R. Sulfule, Industries Department Special Secretary Krishna Aditya and IT&E&C Joint Secretary Anudeep Durishetty also attended the meeting.
