Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday directed all government departments to achieve State revenue goals through better coordination and stronger resource mobilisation measures.
He said departments must work seamlessly to strengthen Telangana’s financial stability and expand revenue sources.
Bhatti Vikramarka chaired a high-level meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Resource Mobilisation at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar State Secretariat.
IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy attended the meeting.
State revenue goals require stronger tax enforcement
During the review, the Deputy Chief Minister stressed the need to strengthen the Commercial Taxes department.
He directed officials to enhance enforcement and intelligence mechanisms to maximise tax collections.
Furthermore, Bhatti Vikramarka instructed officials to pursue dedicated representation for Telangana in the national GST Fitment Committee.
He said such representation would help protect the State’s financial interests during key economic decisions.
The Sub-Committee also reviewed the performance of the Excise department.
Accordingly, the Deputy Chief Minister ordered officials to prepare a foolproof action plan to achieve fiscal targets on schedule.
State revenue goals linked to land and asset management
Bhatti Vikramarka directed Finance Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultaniya to coordinate with the Revenue department on land administration issues.
He also ordered an immediate video conference with all District Collectors.
The exercise will help identify and map government land parcels across Telangana.
Meanwhile, the Sub-Committee reviewed plans for asset monetisation and faster land pooling within Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority limits.
Officials also discussed measures to accelerate implementation of the Hyderabad Infrastructure and Land Transformation project.
The Deputy Chief Minister advised the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department to issue required notifications without delay.
In addition, he emphasised the need for large-scale awareness campaigns on the benefits of the HILT project for citizens and industries.
