Bhatti inaugurates Puligundala eco-tourism hub in Sathupalli

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka inaugurated the Puligundala eco-tourism hub in Sathupalli constituency of Khammam district on Wednesday. He also launched cottages, boating facilities and a jungle safari developed under the project.

Later, he addressed a public meeting and stressed the importance of tourism growth. Bhatti said the Congress government had prioritised the sector. He added that the state aimed to showcase Telangana’s natural beauty globally. He recalled that the first budget after forming the people’s government had highlighted eco-tourism.

Bhatti said the government had already allocated funds to develop the Kanakagiri area in Khammam district as a tourist destination. He added that authorities would promote eco-tourism without disturbing the natural ecosystem.

Puligundala eco-tourism hub gets fresh funding push

Sathupalli MLA Matta Ragamayee Dayanand said the development of Puligundala lake required ₹4 crore. In response, Bhatti Vikramarka sanctioned ₹2 crore from the Green Fund. Matta Ragamayee said officials would mobilise the remaining ₹2 crore through CSR funds.

Matta Ragamayee also announced plans for a double road from Kanakagiri to improve connectivity. He instructed the district collector to prepare proposals immediately. Officials received directions to fix timelines and complete the works quickly.

Sathupalli MLA said the Puligundala eco-tourism hub would create jobs for rural youth. He added that increased tourist footfall would benefit local hotels and small businesses. He urged stakeholders to treat the project as a shared asset and develop it with collective responsibility.

Puligundala eco-tourism hub to be linked with nearby hills

The Deputy Chief Minister said authorities would integrate the Puligundala project with Kanakagiri hills and Kallur hills. He said this plan would create a major tourist hub in the region.

Bhatti expressed confidence that the Puligundala eco-tourism hub would emerge as a leading destination in Telangana and across the country. Bhatti assured that the government would release all required funds without delay.

At the same time, he stressed that development must not harm the natural ecosystem. He reiterated the government’s commitment to sustainable tourism growth.

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Sathupalli MLA Matta Ragamayee Dayanand, Wyra MLA Maloth Ramdas Naik, district collector Anudeep Durishetty, PCCF officer Suvarna, CCF Bhimanayak, FFO Khammam Vikram Singh, Kallur sub-collector Ajay Yadav, DCC president Nuthi Satyanarayana, corporation chairmen Nayudu Satyanarayana and Rayala Nageswara Rao, among others, attended the event.
