Bhatti Vikramarka calls Hyderabad a global hub for science and innovation

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday described Hyderabad as a global hub for science and innovation. He cited the city’s deep legacy in research institutions and its rise in private space ventures.

Telangana invites global partners in science and tech

Addressing the Bioinspired Frontiers 2025 International Conference at JRC Convention Centre, Bhatti said Telangana has emerged as a centre for world-class system design. He urged global research institutions, investors, and innovators to partner with the state.

The Deputy CM assured full support from the Telangana government. “We offer policy incentives, incubation infrastructure, and global-standard facilities for deep-tech enterprises,” he said.

Bhatti reiterated Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s commitment to strengthening scientific infrastructure. Welcoming delegates, he described Hyderabad as a city where “the precision of science meets the poetry of imagination.”

Hyderabad’s scientific legacy highlighted

He noted that Bioinspired Frontiers 2025 connects biology, technology, and space fields where Hyderabad has played a quiet but significant national role.

Recalling India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Bhatti said several premier institutions took shape in Hyderabad during his tenure. These institutions laid the foundations for the city’s scientific stature.

He mentioned the National Remote Sensing Centre, which pioneered satellite imaging for agriculture, disaster management, and water monitoring. He also highlighted defence research facilities like DRDL, DMRL, and RCI, which helped develop India’s missile and materials technology.

Public sector and startups power new innovation

Bhatti praised public sector firms such as Bharat Dynamics Limited, Mishra Dhatu Nigam, and ECIL. He said these organisations laid strong industrial bases in aerospace, metallurgy, and electronics.

“This long-standing effort has shaped Hyderabad’s ‘Science DNA’—disciplined, creative, and quietly ambitious,” he added.

He pointed to private sector breakthroughs as the next chapter of this legacy. Skyroot Aerospace, he said, proved that private firms in India can launch rockets, sparking a new ecosystem of propulsion engineers and suppliers.

He also cited Dhruva Space, which offers complete satellite services. The company, based in Hyderabad, demonstrated that Telangana can produce global-standard solutions in space technology.

Startups reshaping India’s space economy

Bhatti noted a surge in startups working on robotics, 3D printing, and materials science. These ventures, he said, are redefining India’s role in the global space economy.

“Hyderabad today is not just a destination it is a mindset: inquisitive, confident, and collaborative,” Bhatti concluded.
