Hyderabad: Telangana Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin called for stronger Minority Empowerment during the Conference of State Minorities Commissions held at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The conference brought together Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Minority Affairs George Kurian, ministers from Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh, senior officials, and members of the National Commission for Minorities.
Addressing the gathering, Azharuddin said Minority Empowerment required stronger support for education, skill development, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship and social harmony across the country.
He said minority youth sought education, equal opportunity, dignity and a better future within the constitutional framework. He also stressed the need for inclusive growth and better coordination in welfare measures.
Minority Empowerment focus at national conference
Azharuddin highlighted the Telangana government’s welfare initiatives for minorities and youth. He praised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for focusing on education, social justice and youth empowerment.
The meeting concluded with discussions on improving coordination between State Minorities Commissions and the Central Government. Participants discussed measures for effective implementation of minority welfare programmes across the country.
