Australia India Youth Dialogue 2026 launched in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The 14th edition of the Australia India Youth Dialogue was launched in Hyderabad on Friday, with Australian High Commissioner to India Philip Green describing India as a key partner in shaping the future of the Indo-Pacific region.

The launch reception took place at Taj Deccan in Banjara Hills. The event brought together representatives from government, industry, academia, startups, media, innovation and civil society.

Officials said the programme reflected the growing strategic and people-to-people partnership between India and Australia.

Addressing the gathering, Philip Green said India’s rapid economic rise and global influence had made it central to Australia’s foreign policy and economic outlook.

He said India was the fastest-growing large economy in the world and an important global force. He added that no country could shape the future without engaging with India.

Australia India Youth Dialogue to focus on leadership

Philip Green said the India-Australia relationship was driven by strategic alignment, economic complementarity and strong human connections.

Moreover, he said both countries increasingly viewed each other as vital partners in the Indo-Pacific region.

The programme will focus on leadership amid technological, industrial, economic and cultural changes.

It will cover themes including economic and innovation systems, industrial and resource systems, governance and institutional systems, and human and cultural systems.

Australia India Youth Dialogue highlights collaboration opportunities

Telangana Special Chief Secretary for IT and Industries Jayesh Ranjan attended the event and said Telangana aimed to play a major role in India’s long-term economic growth.

He also welcomed deeper Australia-India collaboration in innovation, education and technology.

Meanwhile, AIYD India Co-Chair Anthony Vipin Das stressed the importance of people-to-people diplomacy in strengthening ties between the two nations.

He said treaties and trade agreements created opportunities, while people strengthened the partnership between India and Australia.

Organisers said AIYD 2026 aimed to create new pathways for collaboration between future leaders of both countries on regional and global challenges.
