Hyderabad: The Arrive Alive program was launched in the city after Telangana DGP B. Shivadhar Reddy emphasised that defensive driving remains the most effective way to prevent road accidents. He added that constant awareness of one’s surroundings could, therefore, reduce mishaps across the state.
Arrive Alive program underscores rising accident deaths
Although murders claimed 800 lives a year in Telangana, the DGP said road accidents caused nearly 8,000 deaths. As a result, he urged the public to acknowledge the severity of the issue. He explained that the statewide campaign would focus on alert driving and responsible behaviour. Moreover, he emphasised that defensive driving required attention not only to one’s own path but also to the movements of others.
