Hyderabad: Labour, Employment, Mines and Geology Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy said the State Government has transformed conventional Industrial Training Institutes into Advanced Technology Centres to prepare Telangana’s youth for the changing global job market.
The Minister said the Advanced Technology Centres are emerging as gateways to skill development, employment opportunities and international careers. He made the remarks after visiting the Mallepally Advanced Technology Centre along with media representatives on Friday.
During the visit, students and trainers demonstrated the centre’s modern infrastructure, advanced equipment and industry-oriented training programmes. The facilities have been designed to meet the requirements of emerging technology sectors and future industries.
Advanced Technology Centres strengthen skill ecosystem
Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy said the Telangana Government had launched a major initiative in partnership with Tata Technologies Limited to strengthen the State’s skill development ecosystem.
He said the programme facilitated investments of nearly ₹4,000 crore. As a result, world-class training infrastructure has been established, creating opportunities for youth in domestic and international employment markets.
The Minister said the government was also providing stipends to students enrolled in the Advanced Technology Centres. This support, he noted, ensures that financial difficulties do not prevent young people from acquiring advanced technical skills.
According to him, modernising training institutions in line with evolving technological sectors would help create a highly skilled workforce. Furthermore, the initiative would improve employment prospects and position Telangana as a leader in skill development.
Describing the Advanced Technology Centres as a golden opportunity, he urged students to make full use of the facilities. He also stressed the importance of discipline, dedication and continuous learning in achieving career success.
“These Advanced Technology Centres are laying the foundation for the future employment ecosystem in Telangana. They are equipping our youth to seize opportunities not only across India but also at the global level,” the Minister said.
Advanced Technology Centres prepare workforce for future
The Minister said the government was not only upgrading ITI infrastructure but also conducting extensive training programmes for instructors and faculty members.
He said the initiative was aimed at ensuring students received quality education and practical training aligned with industry requirements. Therefore, graduates would be better prepared to meet the demands of future industries.
Expressing confidence in the programme, Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy said the Advanced Technology Centres would play a key role in developing a skilled workforce. He added that the initiative would become a milestone in establishing Telangana as one of the country’s leading skill development destinations.
As part of the visit, a special photo exhibition and technology showcase were organised at the Mallepally ITI campus. The exhibition highlighted the transformation of the institute and the achievements of students.
Students who completed training and secured employment interacted with the Minister and media representatives. They said the conversion of the institute into an Advanced Technology Centre had significantly improved their skills and employment prospects.
The students also shared how the training had brought positive changes to their lives and career opportunities. Meanwhile, the Minister appreciated the efforts of department officials, trainers and staff involved in the programme.
He commended their commitment to providing quality training and employment opportunities for young people. He also urged them to continue working with the same dedication to build a brighter future for future generations in Telangana.
