ACB traps Mahabubnagar survey superintendent in ₹15,000 bribery case

Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught a superintendent in the Office of the Assistant Director (Survey and Land Records), Mahabubnagar, while allegedly accepting a ₹15,000 bribe in the Mahabubnagar bribery case on Wednesday.

The accused, Bommireddy Venkateshwar Reddy, serves as Superintendent in the Survey and Land Records office. According to the ACB, he demanded and accepted the bribe from a complainant for extending an official favour.

The official allegedly agreed to forward a file to the Assistant Director (Survey and Land Records). The file related to corrections in the village map of Karvena village in Boothpur mandal of Mahabubnagar district.

ACB officials recovered the tainted ₹15,000 from the accused during the trap. Investigators alleged that he acted dishonestly to obtain an undue advantage.

Mahabubnagar bribery case under ACB investigation

The ACB arrested the accused after completing the trap proceedings. Officials will produce him before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally for judicial remand.

The bureau withheld the complainant’s identity for security reasons. It also confirmed that the Mahabubnagar bribery case remains under investigation.

Meanwhile, the ACB urged citizens to report any demand for bribes by public servants through its toll-free helpline 1064. People can also submit complaints through the bureau’s official WhatsApp number and social media platforms. The ACB said it would keep the identity of complainants confidential.
