Zero FIR registered in minister’s office cheating case

Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills police registered a zero FIR against a woman after a civil contractor alleged that she cheated him of Rs. 3 lakhs by falsely claiming to work in the BC Welfare Minister’s Office and promising to clear his pending government bills.

According to the complaint, V. Srinivas Goud, a civil contractor from Prashanth Nagar Colony in Bandlaguda Jagir, approached V. Pushpalatha in 2024 seeking help in securing the release of his pending government bills. She allegedly told him that she worked in the BC Welfare Minister’s Office and demanded Rs. 5 lakhs to get the work completed.

Believing her claim, Srinivas Goud paid her Rs. 3 lakhs. However, the bills were not cleared even after the payment. He repeatedly tried to contact Pushpalatha, but she allegedly stopped responding to his calls.
