Vivek Venkatswamy slams BRS rule, highlights Congress shift in governance

Hyderabad: Labour and Employment Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy said Telangana endured ten years of arrogance, corruption and broken promises under the previous BRS administration. He added that people rejected that rule and brought the Congress to power, which restored transparent and citizen-centric governance. Moreover, he said at the Praja Palana Vijayotsawalu event in Adilabad on Thursday that the Congress began delivering its commitments soon after assuming office.

According to Vivek Venkatswamy, the earlier administration misled people with claims such as one job per household, unemployment allowance and the corruption-linked Double Bedroom scheme. Furthermore, he argued that the contrast between the two governments became evident within weeks of the transition. He added that the shift reflected a clear change in priorities.

He said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy moved fast on four major commitments: 200 units of free electricity, free bus travel for women, ₹500 gas cylinders and Indiramma houses. As a result, these measures began reaching eligible families without delay. He added that Indiramma Housing had already emerged as a flagship programme with expansion across districts.

He said the government was also strengthening education by establishing integrated schools in every district and hiring needed staff. Additionally, he noted that thousands of young people gained jobs after the Congress took office, and more notifications would follow soon. The minister said Telangana aimed to become a three-trillion-dollar economy by 2047. He also recalled the Chief Minister’s outreach at Davos, where global industries were invited to invest.

He said the government launched Advanced Technology Centres to train two lakh young people in new-age courses. Consequently, these steps helped build public confidence in the Congress. He pointed to the Jubilee Hills by-election result as a clear reflection of that support. Finally, he urged voters to back Congress candidates in the upcoming local body elections.
