Vivek Venkatswamy extends May Day greetings to workers

Hyderabad: Labour Employment and Mines Minister Dr. G Vivek Venkatswamy on Thursday extended May Day greetings to workers and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to labour welfare.

He said the Congress government stands firmly by the rights of workers across Telangana. He added that the administration continues to work for both organised and unorganised sectors.

The Minister said the May Day greetings reflect the government’s focus on ensuring dignity and security for workers. He stated that no section of the workforce is being overlooked.

May Day greetings highlight welfare measures

Vivek Venkatswamy said the government introduced the Telangana Gig and Platform-Based Workers Welfare Act, 2026. This law provides legal protection and recognition to workers.

He said over four lakh workers will benefit from the legislation. Therefore, the initiative marks a significant step in safeguarding labour rights.

He also highlighted that the government addressed most demands of RTC employees. In addition, it announced an 11% pay hike.

May Day greetings reaffirm commitment to workers

The Minister said workers are the backbone of development in Telangana. He expressed hope that all workers would lead a life with dignity and safe working conditions.

He added that the government remains committed to protecting labour rights. Moreover, it continues to expand welfare initiatives.

Vivek Venkatswamy said the government draws inspiration from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Kaka Venkatswamy. He noted that their vision guides policies aimed at strengthening labour welfare.
