Hyderabad: Former minister and BRS MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy alleged that law and order had deteriorated in Telangana under the Revanth Reddy government.
Prashanth Reddy criticised the police action against BRS working president KTR’s PA Mahendar Reddy and PRO Mahesh. He said police took the two to Saifabad police station for questioning on Ganesh Chaturthi.
The BRS MLA alleged that the Congress government had registered cases against the two men illegally. He strongly condemned the action and questioned the circumstances surrounding their detention for questioning.
Prashanth Reddy also raised concerns over an alleged attack attempt at the police station. He claimed that 15 masked Congress workers tried to attack Mahendar Reddy and Mahesh in the presence of police personnel.
According to his allegation, BRS Legal Cell lawyers intervened and stopped the group. The attackers then fled the spot, he claimed.
Vemula Prashanth Reddy demands action over alleged attack
Prashanth Reddy said the alleged incident showed how far the activities of Congress workers had escalated. He argued that an attack attempt inside a police station raised serious concerns about the law and order situation in Telangana.
He demanded a comprehensive police investigation into the incident. The police should identify those who allegedly attempted the attack and take strict action against them, Vemula Prashanth Reddy said.
He also criticised the government over the alleged cases against Mahendar Reddy and Mahesh. The BRS MLA said the police should establish the facts surrounding the incident and take action according to the findings.
